Its Holiday Season! My favorite season of all time. What a better way to kick off the Holiday season than with this awesome family. They were fun, go with the flow, energetic and above all a warm loving family. Just spending a little time with them, you can see they truly enjoy and love one another. And Ryelle is a crack up! I don't know how she fits that much personality in that little body of hers! Besides being cute, she kept me laughing the whole session. Here is a sneak peak at our recent Holiday session! Enjoy!

I had such a great time photographing the Ramos family this weekend. It was almost a year ago that I met little Liam. He's not so little these days. He's on the move and ready to get into everything! That's what one year olds are supposed to do! Liam even showed me some of his walking moves. I think we counted more than 10 steps at one point! At this session we got some one year photos, halloween shots and a little bit of the Holidays too! Here is a sneak peak at how this amazing family and their growth over the last year.

I was SO excited to photograph this family! I see Lily and the kids around all the time and I can't help but wonder how they got so cool. They just have this rock star spirit sprinkled over good cheer. I know all too well parenting can be challenging, but Vince and Lily seem to have a knack of making it fun too. Ben and Calliope are very lucky kids to have parents like Vince and Lily. These two kiddos are destined to grow up totally boss (I know, I know I'm not hip enough to pull that word off. Oh well. I tried.)

Little Miss Mackenzie

I had the pleasure of taking Mackenzie's first newborn portraits. With Grandpa, Grandpa, Mommy, Daddy, Auntie, and Uncle all there to enjoy the moment. It was the first time (believe it or not) I've been around a family like my own. Mommy has two decades younger siblings just like I do. They were great! Loving, attentive, and so ready to take Mackenzie and rock her to sleep. What a great family! And Mackenzie was a perfect angel. She didn't cry once, she just hung out and went with the flow. Sara makes her debut!

Frank and Laura have been waiting for a long time for this little miracle, and now she's here. What a beauty she is too. She's pretty sleepy still, which is great for portraits...and great for Mom and Dad to get some sleep (haha! yeah right). This family couldn't be happier and more proud of their precious girl. You know when you walk through Target and you see all the Halloween stuff, and in the same fell swoop you notice the Holiday isle? And then you think, "Are you kidding me ALREADY?" Well...they do that for people like me that have to get ready in October for December. Well, to my credit I have to do Holiday cards a month early so everyone can send them in time. Here is an example of my Holiday "Mini" shoot that's happening November 6th and 7th. (And by mini, I mean one and a half hours of session time baby!)

I have to say, I am beyond lucky to photograph a couple that are so totally devoted and completely in love with one another. I can't describe what that level of passion does to a portrait- there's something that's not quite tangible but has the ability to make a regular portrait into art. Love seems to melt through the image. It makes every snap so very worth it! Frank and Laura have come a long way in the quest to grow their family, but they are finally here, counting down the days until their little angel arrives. Addison turns 1!

It seems like just yesterday that this family was bringing little Addison home. She was so tiny and sleepy. She was such a good baby. She even slept through me putting her in a bucket with her toys. Well, she's not so little any more and not sleepy...but she is a ball of smiles and joy. I can't get enough of her. She is so happy and such a pleasant little person to be around. Mom and Dad, you did a great job this year. Congrats on making it to this major milestone. You have one special little lady on your hands : ) Enjoy!

Robin, Monia, and Austin

When I was a little girl (about 10) my parents took me to Venice Beach. There on the boardwalk I proclaimed "I'm going to work here one day." My parents laughed...nervously, thinking they had made a mistake bringing this impressionable young child to this colorful place.

Well, I didn't become a street performer, but I have spent much of my time taking portraits of my lovely clients on the boardwalk. This is one of my absolute favorite places to shoot, and I was able to spend Friday in this vibrant place with an amazing young family. New-ish parents Robin and Monia met me in Venice with their cute-beyond-words little man Austin. Here is a sneak peak at our session. Robin and Monia- you have a very special bond and proof of that bond shows in Austin. Love him to pieces, hug him a lot, and always remember the incredible life YOU created! A Renewal of Love, Family, and Laughter

With the wind blowing gently and the soft sound of waves moving in the distance, Rob and Daphne proposed their love to one another- renewing the vows they had spoken once before. Their kids watched and stood along side Mom and Dad serving as wonderful testament to the growing and evolving love between Rob and Daphne. I was so honored to be a part of this intimate and heartfelt ceremony. Your family has touched me, and I wish all of you such happiness and joy as you continue to spend your lives together. E's big 0-1 birthday shoot!

I still remember looking at this little guy when he was 3 days old and thinking, "how can he be so tiny?" As I watched him play at our Santa Monica photo session yesterday, I couldn't help but think, "how has grown so fast?" I really can't believe its been almost a year. Even though he only had a short nap before taking on Santa Monica pier, he was such a pleasure to photograph. He is full of wonder and excitement- you can just see him learning and absorbing everything. Mom and Dad, you really do have a special guy on your hands. Enjoy him! Here is a preview of the session.

Jacoby Turns 1!

I can't believe how fast time flies! One of my favorite SC photo families just celebrated their little man's 1 year birthday. Man oh man I forgot how adorable little Jacoby is. He literally gets cuter by the second. We had a blast playing in rocks and getting into sticky brush. The Baker (Kauffman) Bunch

I have to say its been a long time that I've seen an entire family bust into song and dance during a photo shoot. I don't believe I've ever seen a group of people (that weren't auditioning for a reality show) throw all caution to the wind and enjoy the moment so completely and honestly as they sang something about animal crackers and human zoos (yep, I'm pretty sure that's what I heard). This will most definitely be one of my fondest photographic memories!

There's just something awesome about this family...well, theres a whole lot of awesome actually. The Baker clan at their very lest is happy, fun loving, and magnetic. In the short time I was able to spend with them, they had me wishing I was part of the family. You all have truly touched me- I want to grow up to be like you guys! McKayla turns 1!

Little Liam and Family

I spent the afternoon with the Parr family yesterday, and I could't have been more pleased with the experience. I was so impressed at how well they had settled into life with a new little baby added to the mix. What was so impressive was their ability to exude happiness through the whole session. Even when Dad got spit up on- into his ear (and I really mean IN the ear), he laughed it off and kept on enjoying the portrait experience. Liam was a rockstar too- he was such a trooper and so happy even being woken from his nap to take some sleepy shots. When Liam got a little tired and fought the sleep bug, Mom remained calm and peaceful for her little angel. All three members of the family had an amazing ability to stay upbeat and serene- and I was thoroughly impressed by that. Here is a sneak peak into yesterday's session. Mommy Love Shoot

I had the pleasure of spending yesterday afternoon with 4 beautiful ladies. Not only are they mothers, sisters, daughters, but they are, above all, beautiful strong lovely women. It was so pleasant to photograph these four. The love they have for one another is priceless and so amazing to be a part of. Here is a sneak peak at the amazing photo session. The Harrold Family

I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with the Harrold family and their new addition Lincoln. What an amazing boy he is. He was SO good! He slept the entire session and let me mess with him, move him, put hats on him, and he didn't complain at all. He even smiled a few times for me. I think we have a little ham on our hands : ) As for his mommy and daddy... well, they are two of the most confident new parents I have ever met. I have to tip my hat to them for being so calm and easy going with their new life and new responsibilities. They were so at home with being parents. I think these two were truly destined to be great parents and it shows after just 2 weeks! Enjoy this sneak peak of today's session. (And I had to throw in an Easter photo too)

James turns 1!!!

I met this family when James was just a wee-baby. (At the part where Mom never gets sleep). In all the time I've known this family they have just been such a blast to be around. Julie has made me laugh until I cried on more than one occasion. Her funny stories make me chuckle all the time. I just have such respect for this family being in the medical field and still finding the time to laugh, adore, and enjoy their little family of 3. I still can't believe James is going to be 1. Where does the time go? Happy Birthday James, and congrats Mark and Julie for being such loving, adoring, caring parents- and making it to 1 without a single ambulance ride!

I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with this wonderful happy family. Miss Mia was such a dream to photograph! She was smiley, happy, and oh so cute. Considering this family hasn't had a "real" night sleep in a while, they are truly and amazingly happy and it shines right through Mia. And let me just say, Mia is one smart cookie! She knows what she wants and is learning how to get it! What else is a 6 month old supposed to do? Haha! Jessica and John...enjoy the next 6 months with Mia- it goes oh so quick, and soon that little drooly baby face will look like a little girl, and you'll wonder where the baby went. Melissa and Tommy

What can I say about this couple that would do them justice? They really know how to go with the flow...like when we got kicked out of the merry-go-round. (I have to say that was a first...haha). I even got them to play on some bumper cars, but I think they had fun! But there's so much more to this couple than going with the flow. They are truly and madly in love, and you can see it with just one look. Tommy is going to Afghanistan in May, and I can't really express in words how much it means to me that they let me take the portraits he will keep in his pocket while he is away. Melissa- you are so brave, strong and so positive. Tommy has a special soul to share his life with. Tommy- you are so humble, and what you do is so very important to all of us. Thank you both for everything you do, and never forget to keep having butterflies for one another : )

Little Liam and Family

I had the pleasure of spending Saturday morning with Julie, Rick, baby Liam, and (last but not least) Oreo. This family was fun, laid back, and totally in the groove of being new parents. I think Julie and Rick were meant to be parents, not just because they are in love with little Liam, but because being parents looks good on them. Sloany Balogna

I met Miss Sloan when she was just a month old. The first thing I said was "wow what great hair". Well, a lot has changed in the year that I've met her. She is active, verbal, mobile, etc. Her hair is still very impressive- its hair to be envious of! Sloan, Mike, Victoria, and I took a ride down to Venice Beach to take Sloan's 1 year portraits. She was such a good baby with endless smiles. I had the hardest, and I mean HARDEST time picking a few of my favorites to post tonight. These are a few that simply won a coin toss, the rest you'll have to wait to see, as they are all full of amazing smiles and great "Sloan" moments... and the dog poop I put my elbow in (unknowingly) was all worth it for this little chick.

A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes...

I met this couple just a few weeks ago, and I have to say they are the most lovely people. I really don't know if what I'm writing can do them justice but I will try. Kerry is a sign language interpreter and her husband Shawn is a fire fighter. I mean when it comes to giving back to the world, it just doesn't get much better than that. But that's not all that makes them so incredible. They are the type of people that simply shine from the inside out. They light up the room just by being in it. They are madly and totally in love- a love that would make any romantic envious. They are truly amazing and beautiful people. They have been trying to have a baby for so many years and have come across much difficulty and loss, but they never let the fear and pain overcome their will to become parents. Finally, they were blessed with a little girl...and to everyone's surprise she kept thriving in mommy's belly long after the doctors expected. This beautiful little angel is such a miracle, and her parents deserve every little bit of her. The three of them are destined to be an awe inspiring family. They have touched my life. Thanks for letting me take your only preggo pics. Here is a little sneak peak. And guess what? Newborn photos are just around the corner : )

Beautiful Baby Girl

This baby girl was such a gorgeous subject to photograph. This new family was just great. I was so impressed that Dad changed diapers happily! And mom, wow did she look great for just having a little bundle of joy! All three were a delight. But Miss Talia...what a mature girl. When I first looked at her she was so focused. She looked right at me and focused in on me and my baby talk. She is going to be one smart girl. She did such little crying too! She loved being cuddled in Mommy's wrap and Daddy's arms. Oh, Talia I love your little newborn noises! I have such a soft spot for newborns. Here's a sneak peak at Talia's newborn session.

Mac Donald's Farm E I E I Ooooooo

You know when you can just tell a family is close by looking at them? They can just be sitting around, but something shows in them that they all really like one another. That is exactly the way the Spinetti family is! We all traveled down to Mac Donald's Farm (no joke that's what it's called) and took some family portraits. The location was a hit...but what's a good location without amazing subjects like this family? It sure is easy to take pictures of this family- there's a light that comes from within. How do you spell Zest? Nope its spelled Zoe and Zayden! These two were so much fun! Zoe is 1 and loves to run run run. There's just no stopping this little angel. Zayden is so full of life and wants to know everything about everything. He's one smart cookie! Zayden was my special helper the day we took portraits. He even earned the chance to snap a few shots on the "fancy camera"! This family was so sweet and fun to be with. I can't wait to see them again.

Andrea, Jeremy, and Jacoby

I met this family when little Jacoby was just a month old! Jacoby spent most of his days screaming at him mommy in the beginning. Andrea was such a trooper though- amazing really. I always saw her with a smile on her face- and not one of those fake smiles. They were the smiles that come straight from the heart. Then Jacoby learned to smile instead of scream, and his smiles come from the heart too! I have to say all three of these people make my heart smile just the same. And man Jacoby those eyes! Feel Better Bag

Last night one of the coolest things happened. It was also one of the kindest things I've ever seen. I went to my door to find a bag with my son's name on it. My son was really feeling crummy from a bad cold yesterday, but this little bag brightened his day. Inside the bag was an awesome note from his great friend Joshua. Joshua left a feel better bag with some of his favorite stuff. The little egg in the bag made Jax laugh for the first time yesterday. Awesome. Joshua you rule! Thanks for making my little man feel better : )

There's so much to say about this family, but one thing comes to mind in particular- that thing is unwavering devotion to one another. Their devotion to one another (including 9 month old Joshua) is something you can see the moment you lay eyes on them. They are an amazing family with so much to offer others and each other. Joshua, has to be one of the loveliest babies to be around! What a smile that kid has...not to mention eyes that would stop any woman dead in her tracks. James meets Christmas!

I met James about 4 months ago. I think he and his mommy are awesome. James is such a laid back little baby. He's always chill and goes with the flow. I love that. James' mom is super excited about the holidays, and I have to admit she TOTALLY got me into the holiday mood today. We did a home shoot with James with a big sprinkle of Christmas spirt!
